JOY In Our Life: Flat Tire

JOY In Our Life: God works on our behalf even before we know we need something. He employs many souls to be His hands such as happened to me today just outside of Hamilton. 1.This a.m. while in a grocery store parking lot a fellow rapped on my window and told me my rear passenger side tire was almost flat and to get to a gas station immediately to put air into it. He told me the nearest station was about a half mile up the road. 2. I have never put air in a tire so I asked the station attendant to assist me. He did and it took a lot of strength on his part to hold the air hose to the tire. I do not have strength in my hands and could not have done it. He told me it was flat and to not drive it and certainly not for the almost two hours home! 3. I called Andrea at home and Bob on his way to a meeting and we came up with a plan. 4. The Auto Pro Brian Tire Centre was right across the road! I called and they were going to be open for just another 90 minutes. I safely crossed four lanes of traffic and not one, but four fine fellows came to my aid. About 20 minutes later I was on the road again, with the offending 3″ nail resting securely in my purse. Full of JOY that I did not have a blowout while traveling at highway speeds; that I was right across the road from the tire place and they were open on a Saturday; that I left this morning and not this afternoon as I had considered; a plug was all I needed and the nail did not enter the sidewall; it only cost $40 and not the cost of a new snow tire; that Bob’s mum was not in the vehicle because she would have freaked; and finally, that the garage had a washroom because my kidneys and bladder ALWAYS jump into action when I am stressed and it is cold outside! Joyfully back home. Thank you to the Lord and all His unknowing assistants!
